There used to be a reason attached to everything. The lipstick was borrowed. The skirt was old. The photo was “random.” She had the disclaimer loaded before anyone even opened their mouth.
Then one day the excuses just do not show up. A coworker says she looks dressed up, and she does not mention dinner plans or laundry or how she almost wore jeans. She says, “I felt like it.”
That answer is hard to argue with. It leaves no little door open for everyone to pretend this happened by accident. She picked the look. She wore it outside. That is the whole story.
